Nick Rose has lived in the Chilterns for most of his life. He moved to Rose Cottage in The Lee in 1975 and has taken a keen interest in the community. He served two years as a Governor of Lee Common School, and is a Trustee of the Ballinger War Memorial Hall. After running a distribution company in Aylesbury for 25 years he has now retired from business.
He first served on Chiltern District Council from 1999 to 2003 initially on the Environmental Services Committee but from 2001 until 2003 was Chairman of the Planning Committee. Re-elected in 2007, he joined the Cabinet as Member for Planning and Transport but since May 2010 has been Leader of the Council.
He has been married to Lindsay for 39 years, and has a son and a daughter, both of whom were educated at Chartridge School. Subsequently his son attended Chesham High School and his daughter, Dr Challoner’s Girls School. In his spare time he enjoys reading and sailing.
