Mimi has been a district councillor for 16 years, a role she took on after fighting a major community campaign. She is best known for her campaigning to make life better and improve her local area, saving greenbelt, preserving catchment areas, saving post offices, the Chesham Bois Post Office battle becoming the catalyst for the national movement. Nationally, she helped create the 12A cinema classification, and has worked on the Cross Party Task Force encouraging women to participate in public life. Mimi was awarded an OBE in the Queens New Year Honours List for her work for women and for her local community. She enjoys being involved at every level of Government, using her experience and common sense approach to tackle any situation with enthusiasm, passion and always a smile. She currently serves on the Chiltern District Council Cabinet, with responsibility for the Community, Leisure, Young People and Communications Portfolio. In this role, which she has held for the last 7 years, she works across a wide spectrum of areas throughout the district.
Mimi was also elected to Amersham Town Council on May 5th and is currently the Town Mayor.
