Mike spent his career arranging finance for major engineering projects, all over the world. He retired in 2003 and has been a Parish Councillor ever since.
Four years after being a Parish Councillor, Mike was elected onto Chiltern District Council and was the Portfolio Holder for Environmental Management from 2008-2010. In that role, he merged the council’s waste collection service with Wycombe District Council and saved residents over £1 million per year. He also instituted projects including upgrading car park lighting, and installing solar panels, which save energy, Carbon emissions and money. From 2010 to 2014 Mike was Deputy Leader of the Council.
As Chairman of the Chilterns Crematorium Management Committee, Mike successfully concluded a seven-year site search for a new crematorium outside Aylesbury. He is currently the Chairman of the new crematorium Project Board.
Mike’s interests include watching rugby, sailing and travel.
