Mark Shaw

Member of Buckinghamshire Council

Mark and his family have always been very active within the community in Chesham, he was Chairman of Governors for eight years at Newtown Early Years & Infant School, during which time he led the fight to successfully save the school from closure.  He has also served as a School Governor at the former Little Spring School and is now a Director at Chiltern Skills & Enterprise College in Cameron Road.

As Chairman of the Pond Park Community Association he has worked together with the officers of the Association with a number of stake-holding partners to bring improvements and services to the area.  He was delighted to get the Windsor Road/Belmont playground revamped and raised £26K for new play equipment in the Batchelors Way Rec.

He is also a Trustee of Chesham Athletic FC.  He is someone who wants to make a positive difference to people’s lives and environment and is always prepared to argue the case to make challenges to bring about change.

Mark's priorities for Bucks are:

  • Continuing to fight for extra budget to maintain and improve the roads and pavements.
  • Continuing to campaign and fight against any proposed development on the Lye Green, Green Belt site.
  • Ensuring we have the best education for our children.
  • Ensuring that we have the best local healthcare system for all our residents.
  • Continuing to work with residents ensuring their concerns and issues are heard by relevant local and national government.

If you have any local concerns, please contact Mark on 07951 744656 or email mark2ba@hotmail.com

A Plan for the Next Four Years:

  1. Invest at least another £50m in improving our roads and pavements.
  2. Continue to prioritise safeguarding of vulnerable children and adults whilst providing care of our elderly who are unable to help themselves.
  3. Improve people's lives and health, working closely with our local NHS.
  4. Ensure all our children receive an excellent education.
  5. Continue to cut overheads, increase income and maintain a balanced budget.
