Julie Burton

Julie Burton has lived in the Chiltern District for over 35 years and has served on the Council for a total of 12 years. She is Currently Chairman of the Housing and Planning Overview Committee and the Homelessness Committee, and a member of both the Planning and Licensing Committees.

 

As a magistrate for 18 years she sat in the Adult and Family Courts as a Chairman at Amersham and High Wycombe.

Julie has also been a School Governor and a Board Member of Paradigm Housing Association. Julie has also been actively involved in many local charities including 35 years with the Royal National Lifeboat Institute, as a Chairman, for which she received the Silver Medal, Board Member of the Citizens Advice Bureau and Chairman of her Local Parish Council.

 

Julie is passionate that the Greenbelt and Area of Outstanding National Beauty must be protected and believes that only when development is for the benefit of the local community should it be allowed to go ahead.

Isobel Darby has lived in the village all her life and was educated at local state schools, as were her three children. She is an accountant and, having trained in a City firm, practices locally.  Isobel enjoys her work in the community and is pleased to be able to give something back to the area.

Mark was born in a council house in Amersham, 52 years ago. He attended 4 local schools, including Dr Challoners Grammar School and also undertook a 4 year apprenticeship at local printing company, Halstans.

Chris grew up in nearby Hazlemere and moved to the area in 2007, following his graduation from St. Andrews University. He lives with his fiancée, Rebecca, and plays an active role in both the local community and the Conservative Party.

 

Andrew Garth

Andrew Garth, District Councillor for Ashley Green, Latimer and Chenies which is a rural ward to the east of Chesham and Little Chalfont, and adjoins Hertfordshire. It is made up of the three parishes after which it is named. There are five villages in the Ward – Ashley Green, Chenies, Latimer, Ley Hill (including part of Botley) and Whelpley Hill. There are also three primary schools as well as churches, pubs, village halls, farms and businesses that help make up the Ward's very strong local communities.

John Gladwin

He is a Chartered Accountant and works as an interim Finance Director. He has broad experience in business, including 18 years with a large multi-national chemical company.

Mimi Harker OBE

Cllr. Mrs Mimi Harker OBE  Mimi is married to Robin and they have two children, Robyn, 18 and Arrun, 15.  She has lived in the area for 23 years and is extremely visible around the community.

Graham Harris was born in Gloucester, Brought up in rural Kent and moved to Amersham in 1977 and has lived in Amersham for the last 34 yearsGraham Harris qualified as a chartered surveyor and set up his own practice in Watford in 1985 he retired from the practice in 2007 and has remained a consultant with the practice.He has been married to Jill for 30 years and both of their children attended local grammar schools.

Murray Harrold

Murray has lived and worked in Chalfont St Peter and Gerrards Cross since 1983 having moved here, with his family in 1972. For many years Murray worked in the brewing industry for both Courage and Watney Mann Truman Brewers.

Carl Jackson

Carl was born and raised in Chalfont St Giles and still lives in the village. A former lawyer and political adviser, he is now a director of an international research and training company with clients in the UK, USA, Russia and the Middle East. Carl has represented Chalfont St Giles on Chiltern District Council since 2015. In 2018, he was elected Chairman of Chesham and Amersham Conservative Association.

Caroline has lived in Amersham with her partner for 18 years and since 1997 has worked in and around the area. She now runs her own local business.

Robert is a lifelong Chiltern resident and a graduate of Economics and Finance and postgraduate Law. A young entrepreneur himself, Robert is always keen to support local businesses and start-ups, and  seeks to improve and retain these vital local services.

Vanessa has lived in Great Missenden since 2010 and in the local area for almost 30 years. An experienced Chartered Accountant, Vanessa currently works in London and, like many local residents, commutes regularly from Great Missenden station.

 

Steve Patel

Steve (Siddharth) Patel and his family have lived in Seer Green since 1992.  He and his wife Sandie have one son who recently attended Queen Mary University.Steve is well known throughout Seer Green as the proprietor of the village post office and shop.   This has given him a unique insight into the concerns and needs of local residents. He is available to consult every day.

Don Phillips

Don Phillips and his wife, Beryl, moved from Cheshire to Doggetts Wood Lane 31 years ago.  Before retirement, Don was an oil industry marketing manager, then M.D. of an engineering services company.  In 23 years as Chiltern Councillor, (20 representing Little Chalfont), he has held many senior posts, including Chairman of Council, and Chiltern’s first Executive Leader.

Nick Rose

Nick Rose has lived in the Chilterns for most of his life.  He moved to Rose Cottage in The Lee in 1975 and has taken a keen interest in the community.  He served two years as a Governor of Lee Common School, and is a Trustee of the Ballinger War Memorial Hall.  After running a distribution company in Aylesbury for 25 years he has now retired from business.

Jonathan, his wife Jenny and their three children have lived in Chalfont St Peter since 1987. Their children attended the Chalfont St Peter First and Middle Schools before Chesham High and Dr Challoner’s. Jonathan is a writer and PR consultant and was elected as a Central Ward member in 2012.

Mike spent his career arranging finance for major engineering projects, all over the world. He retired in 2003 and has been a Parish Councillor ever since.

Nick is Bucks born and bred and has lived in Chesham now for a number of years with his wife and they recently welcomed their daughter to the family. He works in Uxbridge and has represented Ridgeway since March 2018. 

Michael Stannard

Mike Stannard served on the Chalfont St. Giles Parish Council for eleven years, five of them as Chairman. Mike moved to St. Giles in 1987, brought up his two children in the village and served for 8 years as a Governor of the village Infant School and Nursery. Many people will also know him from his long-standing involvement with the local Cricket Club.

Mark is currently a leader for one of the world’s largest agribusinesses, where he has fought against many of the excesses of EU regulation which impact on both his company and British farmers. Prior to that, Mark was a Partner in one of London’s largest communications consultancies.

Nick is an experienced local campaigner and has worked on multiple elections. Formerly Head of Ground Campaigns for Vote Leave, where he led a team of over 45 staff operating across the country. He has also worked internationally, including in the Caribbean and Africa.

Heather moved to Prestwood in January 2014 from just up the road in Aylesbury. Heather is already involved in Prestwood Nature, Prestwood Gardening Society and a new book club.

Liz Walsh

Liz moved to Amersham with her husband and three small children over thirty years ago. The children all went to local schools and everyone enjoyed Amersham’s splendid amenities. Liz is a solicitor by profession and went into legal publishing so that she could - and still does - work from home.

Jonathan is married and has lived in the Chilterns since 1993. Like many residents, Jonathan spent his working life in London commuting into the city.

John Wertheim

John Wertheim and his family have lived in Chalfont St Peter for 40 years.  He was elected Councillor for Austenwood in 2007 and re-elected in May 2011. He will continue to work to preserve the Green Belt and campaign to reopen the local Hospital. He has closely monitored all building developments in both Austenwood and the whole of Chalfont St Peter so that they meet the standards expected by all those living in the village.
