All Change at Chiltern

A new Leader of Chiltern District Council (CDC) has been announced following a cabinet shake-up.

Councillor Isobel Darby was named during CDC’s annual general meeting on Tuesday 13th May, replacing Nick Rose, who has led the council for four years.Mrs Darby has been a district councillor since 2007, latterly as cabinet member for health and housing and a Chalfont St Peter parish councillor for 29 years.  The mother of three is a self-employed accountant and a governor of two local schools.

“Councillor Rose has been an exceptional leader and I’m honoured to be elected to take on the mantle to continue building on his valuable achievements.  I’m a strong believer in team effort and collaborative working.  The saying ‘the whole is greater than the sum of the parts’ is my mantra, and as such my priorities will be to enhance communication and engagement with our members, officers, partner councils and other agencies.  These are testing but exciting times for local government and I’m confident Chiltern can more than meet the challenges ahead”.

Mr Rose said, “We’ve built sound relationships with other councils to achieve joint working, which has yielded significant savings and enabled us to maintain services.   I must acknowledge the support from my member colleagues and the help and guidance of our officers which has made the last four years very rewarding”
