Tricia Birchley has been a school Governor for 15 years, she is a Governor of the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust and the County Council Lead Spokesperson for Adult Social Care. She is married to Richard, a Mechanical Engineer and they have two married sons. She is a keen tennis player, theatregoer and a member of the National Association of Decorative and Fine Arts at Ballinger.
During the past 6 years she has resolved many of your concerns at County Hall by working closely with the Parish Councils, resisting applications for motorised vehicles to use Byways Open to All Traffic (BOATS), supporting local projects through the Community Leaders’ Fund and improving access to local services. Having lived in the Chilterns for over 30 years Tricia cares passionately about The Chilterns AONB and was pleased that in March NATS withdrew their consultation on increased flights from Luton. The tranquillity of our countryside is one of her top priorities and makes Buckinghamshire one of the best places to live in England in terms of social values.
She says “If re-elected on 4th June I would pursue:
- Adequate resource in road maintenance and gritting on country roads used by school services, particularly the hill top villages where there have been a significant number of accidents due to colder temperatures.
- Continue to lobby NATS when they reopen their consultation.
- Vigorously support expenditure on Social Services for the elderly and disabled to be fair to all groups within the community.
- Encourage community engagement and provide the services needed to keep the countryside prosperous.
- Support our excellent schools and be committed to raising standards still further to ensure the best possible education for local children
I would make Chiltern Ridges residents my top priority at County Hall and work actively and diligently on your behalf. It is important to protect our wonderful environment for future generations and I would welcome the opportunity to continue to work on your behalf and represent you”.
