MARTIN PHILLIPS (AMERSHAM AND CHESHAM BOIS)
I am 56 years of age and married with three (nearly) grown up children. I have been an Amersham town councillor for the past 8 years, and have been the Conservative group leader and Mayor and Deputy Mayor for the last two years. Alongside the normal town council responsibilities, the Conservative led town council has achieved the prestigious quality council status, and has excelled in the Brittan in Bloom contest over the last two years. Most recently achieving a silver gilt award.
I am also chairman of governors at the Henry Allen School, Chairman of the Youth Centre Committee, Chairman of the Amersham / Krynica twinning association and a trustee of the Citizens Advice Bureau. I am passionately interested in environmental issues, especially in relation to planning and housing. My other main interests in the community include; improving facilities for younger people, the Amersham Action Group and the Neighbour Action Group. My hobbies include reading, travel and playing in the local quiz and pool leagues.
In May I was appointed to the Cabinet of the County Council rresponsible for Community Engagement.
