Chesham and Amersham is currently experiencing an unprecedented period of freezing weather. With temperatures predicted to stay low for at least another week, many of you, particularly those from vulnerable groups, will be thinking about how best to stay warm and manage their energy costs.
The Home Heat Helpline (0800 33 66 99), based in Glasgow, is a free-phone energy helpline set up to tackle fuel poverty by helping people access the information and services they need to manage their fuel bills and reduce their energy consumption. Aimed primarily at older people, families with young children, and disabled people, the Home Heat Helpline (0800 33 66 99) is a free-phone number providing vulnerable customers with direct access to free insulation and reduced or ‘social’ tariffs from their energy supplier.
New research published by the Helpline recently revealed that millions of households across the UK are missing out on big savings on their energy bills. It also indicated that contacting the Helpline could result in families making savings of more than £250 on their energy bills every year.
The latest statistics from the Helpline suggest that call numbers have increased by 23% in recent weeks. With the cold weather set to continue we are keen that as many people as possible phone the Helpline and access the help that is available.
